Pointe du Hoc, in Cricqueville en Bessin (Calvados), is a remarkable site both for its landscape and environment and for its patrimonial and historical value. It is a symbol of the courage of the American soldier, who climbed the 20 meters cliffs, at the dawn of June 6th, 1944, to begin the liberation of France and Europe. The site is owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and is managed by the ABMC (American Battle Monuments Commission), following a French-American treaty signed in 1956.
